And It Starts Again....

Well...... School is starting for both the boys and soccer practices and games begin for Kanin. Kanin is doing great in his 1st year of soccer. The coach approaches us all the time and expresses how he is very impressed on how well he has picked up the sport. Kanin really enjoys it!

Kanin has lost his 8th tooth. We go back to the dentist in September who will then send us to an Ortho for braces. Fun, Fun!!

Since I last wrote Auntie LeeLee has spoiled Koen by surprising him with a "one of a kind" BMX bike. This is an $800.00 bike!! She really spoiled him. He just loves it!

I am also moving the boys back into their own rooms. With Kanin getting older he really likes is privacy from his little brother. I am in the process of taking down the old, 2 layers of wallpaper in Koens room. Talk about a pain! Once it is done I will be so happy. Since I am working in there I have also decided to take down the "popcorn" off the ceiling. Kanin has decided to decorate his room in BMX and Koen has decided on airplanes. I have tons of cute ideas and I am really excited!

Well....

I am feeling really guilty for not writting more.... Since I last wrote we had the baseball party, Kanin lost his 7th tooth (which means we are getting closer to braces), Koen is now riding a 2 wheel bike and both the boys are out of school. I just cant get over how busy I have been. How did I get stuff done when I was working?

On Koen's last day of school he had a field trip to a local park where the fire department showed up and gave all the kids a tour of their rigs. Koen had a good time and wants to be a fireman when he grows up. Actually, it has changed now to a Monster Truck driver and the truck will be painted as a firetruck with light on top. I told him that's fine as long as he gives his Mama a ride! He will be starting preschool again at the beginning of August. He is really looking forward to it.

Kanin had a big BBQ with all his classmates on his last day of school. He is happy to now be a 3rd grader. We will find out soon who his teacher will be. He goes back to school on July 28th. We felt a little bad about sending him to Summer School because he started that only a few days after his last day of school and will only have a few weeks of summer vacation. But he brushed up on a lot of vital information that will hopefully help him in 3rd grade.

We recently went to a friends wedding in Anderson which we brought our Toy Hauler too. This gave us the "camping itch" so we decided to go camping a few weeks later. We had a great time. It had been 2 years since we have been. Keyvin had a great time because it was Father's Day weekend and he didnt have to do anything but relax. The boys are begging to go again. We ended up taking Kanin out of Summer School for 2 days. We headed up by ourselves as a family and spent a full day and a 1/2 together before Todd, Mikelyn, John and all the kids headed up. We swam, fished, roasted marshmellows and all the other fun camping stuff you can do. Everyone headed home on Sunday (Fathers Day) and since Keyvin didnt have any work Monday we decided to stay an extra day. I read a whole book that weekend. You know how long it has been since I have been able to do that? A VERY LONG TIME!! We had a thunder storm come through but it was just enough rain to keep the dust down. It was pretty exciting and the rainbow it left behind was beautiful!

So, now we are getting ready to start Kanin's 1st year of soccer. Thanks to Auntie and Oma, Kanin is able to play. Our first meeting is next week where we will get to meet all the players. Wish us luck and as soon as the schedule is out I will forward to everyone. I'm sure we will need all the support we can.

Bake, Bake, Bake

That seems like all I have been doing lately! I made a cake for my mother-in-laws 50th birthday party. I had so much fun doing it! The only problem was is that it was about 100 degs outside and Royal Icing just doesnt like that kind of weather!
As you can see my 4 layers started to slowly melt away from the once very smooth sides. I melted white chocolate and piped out SUSIE and a bunch of 50's on lollipop sticks. I even piped out a paisly design for the bottom. I used red wire and put gold and silver beads that dangled from the top of the cake. If you had a craving for chocolate you should have been there!!

Kanin had teacher appreciation week at school. I had Brittany over so I helped them make Fruitloop Bars (like Rice Krispy Treats) for their teachers. They had a fun time making them and were very proud to hand them out.

Kanin lost his 5th tooth! Would you believe that the Tooth Fairly forgot to come and stop by that night though!! Oops!! Well, he pulled it after 9:00 p.m. so I think it was too late for her to get the message that it was under his pillow. So, he put it under his pillow the next night and she brought him $5.00!! He was very excited!

At the beginning of May we went to a Stockton Ports game with East County Little League. The boys had a great time and for $7.00 a ticket you just cant beat it! They got to meet Splash and Kanin got to walk out on the field before the game started. The coach of our team didnt go so "Team Mom" got to walk out with the boys! It was raining that day but it didnt hold us back at all!
So, now I am getting ready for the end of the season baseball party. We will be having it here on June 13th. Keyvin has been cleaning up the yard so it's not such a rush a few days before. We will have 12 boys here along with their parents and siblings. Our house will be pretty full but we enjoy entertaining!

Koen's 4th Birthday Party

Koen had his 4th Birthday party this last weekend. We had a Monster Jam! We had family and neighbors over for cake and ice cream! The weather was very nice and the kids ended up going in the pool. Keyvin and John, with Papa Beep's help, set up the "crushed car" decorations! They turned out great and the kids just loved it. We also had face painting. I'm not an artist but the kids thought they were fun!

Koen got some fun presents! He has been playing with them non-stop! Grandpa Ray and Arlene came to the party also. The kids, along with me, really enjoy when family comes by! It makes them feel really special. I am usually busy running around and dont have much time to visit but just knowing they are there means a lot!

During the party Koen ended up grabbing his guitar. He has been playing it and sing songs that he makes up. A few of his song titles are "Shrek and Donkey", "Dinner" and "I Want A Girlfriend". It is so funny to hear what he sings. You just wonder what goes through their little heads.

Easter, Field Trips and More......

Well, last time I wrote we were getting ready for Easter Weekend. We had a great time hanging out with the neighbors and watching the kids decorating and searching for the eggs.

Koen had a field trip to Smith Family Farm. It was so hot out there! We had a great time singing songs in the barn, looking for worms and feeding the animals. We got to bring home a tomato and bell pepper plant.
Kanin is doing good in baseball. The schedule keeps us pretty busy. I am really enjoying being the team mom. Kanin had to get some blood work done because of some headaches he has been getting. We are just waiting for the results to come back from the dr to see what we need to do. I will keep everyone updated!

So long.............

Can you so busy....... Last time I wrote we were down south visiting my mom and sister in Palm Desert. Kanin ended up racing some BMX and did great! We headed home and brought my mom and Koa (their dog) back with us. Jitter and Koa had so much fun together. Jitter is like a big brother to Koa. It was a lot of fun watching them play. Mom stayed for a week and then sadly headed back home. She is feeling OK since her fall and they are still keeping a close eye on her Leukemia. We wish we could be closer and pray about it everyday that maybe it will happen soon. We just love spending time with them! The kids just love it down there because there is so much to do and everything is so close!

Koen had crazy hair day at school. It is the cutest thing seeing all the kids and their crazy hair. Koen requested a Mohawk. I obliged and gave him a green one. That stuff was so hard to get out. I had to soak him in the tub! He is learning so much and amazes me everyday on what he knows! I am really proud of him.

Since we have been home baseball started for Kanin. I am team mom. I really enjoy it since I actually have time now to help out. Kanin's team is the Timber Rattlers. We had Opening Ceremonies on March 28th. It is a really fun day for all the kids. I made all the kids these little rattle snakes to carry around their neck as they walked out in the parade. They are filled with rice and in the tail end I put a plastic Easter egg filled with rice so when you shook it it sounds like a rattler. Every team also has to donate a basket for a raffle. I ended up making a White Elephant basket. I just collected items from all the parents. It turned out pretty cute.

In the first game Kanin played 2nd base and was able to get many outs. He got the Game Ball that day. The next game he was able to make a Double Play. We didn't even need to yell at him from the sidelines on where to throw it! :)

Last weekend my girlfriend Kim came out to visit with her kids. We went to O'Hara Park for their annual Easter Egg Hunt. There were so many eggs and so many kids. Koen had a great time trying to get as many as he could. We then headed to the park to play and ride bikes. The weather was great last weekend it was really hard to stay inside!

.

We are now planning our annual Easter court party. Friday night we will boil eggs. We have everyone meet in the court with their eggs and burners. Saturday night we meet again to decorate the eggs. Then on Sunday it's the big Hunt and Pot Luck. This will be the third year we do this and it is so much fun. It's great to look back at the pictures and see how much the kids have grown up.

I am also planning Koen's big 4th birthday party. He wants to have a Monster Truck Party. We will be having it here at the house. He wants to also swim but not sure how the weather will hold up. So as a back up I am planning lots of fun games for the kids to play.

Spring Break

So, I havent written in a while. Sorry about that! I am at my mom's for a little vacation. Tell you what, it's hot down here!! 90 deg!! I am too white for it to be that hot! I'm not ready to wear shorts or flip flops! The kids and I have just been hanging out. I was able to take Kanin to a batting cage to keep up on his baseball. It is a really nice facility called Sluggers! Pretty funny the owner is from Danville! Small world. Tonight we came up to Yucca Valley to visit my sister. We brought the kids down to a skate park where we learned about a BMX tract up the road. Kanin really wanted to go and watch and ended being able to race. He was in a beginners class with kids his age and won 2nd place! Pretty funny seeing him out there in his jeans and sweatshirt and all the other kids are in their gear. I am so proud of him! Koen got some "hill" riding in also on his Big Wheel. I swear that kid will for sure be using his medical insurance card! We will be staying up here one more day so Kanin can go to a BMX clinic on Saturday. Thank you Auntie LeeLee!

Well, it's been a while since I have written. My mom is slowly recovering. She went and got an MRI and they found soft tissue damage. This OK but will take her longer to recover. My dad came and visited for a few days last week. It was really nice to have him here. He enjoyed our chaotic home and daily routines! The boys loved having him here too. They loved showing their stuff to him. Koen is doing really good at his Karate and Kanin is having a great time playing baseball. We took him out today to the park and hit a few balls.

I made another Keepsake box! This one was for Julie. I gave it to her as a baby shower gift. Keyvin hates it when I make these because I usually have all my stuff out on the kitchen counter for at least a week. I really enjoy making them! This wooden box was called an Ammo Box from Michaels Craft Store. I then bring it home, sand it, seal it, paint it, line the inside, add little envelopes on the inside for "First Tooth and First Lock of Hair". I then add the baby's initials on top with little wooden letters.

Last night we all went out for Mikelyn's birthday. We headed out to Byron and danced all night at the Wild Idol. We had a great time!! Happy Birthday Mikelyn!

Feelin Blue

Well, last night we took the boys to Monster Jam. They had a great time! Thank you Auntie Lee Lee! There were roll overs, blown motors and broken tie rods! That was just the ride to Oakland. Just kidding..... This was Koen's first "outing" at a show. I don't think he ever blinked his eyes!

I wrote that I was feeling blue and that is because I am sad for my mama! She fell at work and ended up getting pretty banged up. She has 9 stitches in her leg, an almost broken nose and a pretty banged up head. I wish I was closer so I could go and help her out. She can barely move her arms and legs. Poor thing! Take care mom and get plenty of rest!

Playing Around

Today turned out to be a beautiful day. My mouth still really hurts and I am slowly getting over my sinus thing. After bringing Koen to school I was able to take a little nap. That was really nice. Since I have been off I have actually been pretty busy during the day. Kanin doesn't have school tomorrow so I let the boys play outside after he got home from school. Koen is starting to ride his "big boy" bike. He is doing really good with the training wheels on. He begged me to take them off because he thinks after riding it with them on for only 5 min he is a professional. So I gave in just so he can see that he won't be able to do it. Sure enough, he fell over.I actually caught him tonight trying to wash out his dinner cup. He had climbed up on the counter. I told him that even though he was wearing Spiderman pants doesn't mean that he is actually Spiderman! I really admire his persistence though. He is such an independent child. Which can be good and can be bad. So, back to the bike story, he switched to his Big Wheel. He just loves that thing and is so fast on it. He looks like a race car stunt driver when he is on it. Kanin is getting really good riding his bike. He loves going over his ramp. He is starting to get some air as he goes over. He also likes to scare the neighbors by riding really fast and then standing on the seat. I remember doing that as a kid!

Ouch!

Today I had to get a cavity filled! I thought I was too old for this stuff! I am so sore! I have always been a baby about this stuff too! Kanin went with me and he got sealers on his back molers. Hopefully he will pass all this cavity stuff. Keyvin has never had one! It's just not fair! Here's a guy who never went to the dentist until we got married and was perfect! I just don't get it!

Karate

Koen had his first Karate class tonight. It is free through the City of Oakley. He did really good and had a lot of fun. He can't wait till next Monday to go again. Kanin starts his baseball practices this Friday. We unfortunatly have to go buy him new cleats. We measured both the boys tonight and in a year they have grown over 3 inches! No wonder I am always buying new pants for them!
